Château de Chenonceau

5.5/8.0 Although I was driving, I have no idea where this place is. In a future update, I’ll grab a map of France and try and find out where I actually went. Until then, please enjoy these photographs.

This is a very interesting castle for two queens (presumably, not at the same time), and if I can ever find my brochure on it, I can tell you about it. I’m almost sure that it’s build over the Cher river, though. Or maybe not. It’s not a very big castle, by royal terms, but it’s my girlfriend’s favorite castle.

Secret Garden

Garden #1

There are two gardens at this castle, one for each of the different queens. I didn’t take any pictures of the other one because it was smaller, it didn’t have a full rainbow, and I ran out of film.

Way Out

Chenonceau Entrance

This is looking from the gardens towards the main gate of the castle (and the moat). Behind you would be the castle.

I tell ya, this is just a small castle, but those French royalty sure knew how to live in style. It’s good to be the king (or queen).
