Much like Chenonceau, I don’t really have an idea where this place is, but at least I have the brochure.
Construction of Chambord began around 1519 by François I, then king of France. Strangely, he didn’t actually spend a lot of time here. All told, he stayed a total of only eight weeks here, to do some hunting in the palace ground. Most of the time, it wasn’t even completely furnished.
The king that spent the most time here was exiled Polish king Stanislaus Leszcyzynski, Louis XV’s father-in-law. He stayed from 1725-33 at Chambord. They had to take furniture from storehouses in Versailles to furnish it.

Chambord is a larger and more famous castle than Chenonceau. The tiny specs by the front door are people.

The towers on Chambord seem to be of the same style as the churches (Gothic?).

Just inside the main entrance is the double stairs. These are actually a pair of intertwining stairs that never meet. They go up all the way to the roof, where a small chapel is located.
