Slightly Courageous Now-Improved World

I’ve decided to change the Left Lane. Up until now, I’ve been using the Left Lane as my article for the Bahnstormer (or BS, as I like to call it), the newsletter of the Rally Sport Region of the Porsche Club. Now with Lori Jo leaving as newsletter editor, I feel like I can break the shackles that once bound me to write about Porsches and driving.

But first, though, I want to thank Lori for taking over as newsletter editor of the Bahnstormer for me all those years ago, after the first time I moved over to Germany. I’m sure she didn’t know what she was getting into at the time, but she actually lasted longer than I did. Heck, I moved out of the country to quit the job. She just had to get a baby. I wonder what lengths the next editor will take to get rid of it.

It makes it sound pretty bad to be an editor, doesn’t it? Well, it’s a thankless job, as many volunteer jobs are. Still, even though it was a love/hate affair for me, I think I liked it more than I hated it. One perk of the job that I miss was staying up late to finish a newsletter. This may sound like a joke, but I happen to like staying up late, and this was just a convenient excuse to do so.

So, with apologies to Aldous Huxley, I think I’m going to find the Left Lane a happier place to be now since I have less time pressure, and because I can pretty much write whatever I want.

This will not be a blog, whatever the heck a blog is.

With this new emphasis, I may even update this more frequently, with more interesting contents. We’ll see.
