Dyna’s Sure

Arr arr arr arr....

Here is the dyno curve for the Autothority Stage 2 chip. As you can see, the three pulls (or dyno runs) were all pretty consistent. Unfortunately, I don’t have dyno results of the stock engine! Oh, but the heck with scientific methodology. I’ll just fake it from here on.

This was done at Paul’s High Performance in Jackson, MI (517) 764-7661 using a Dynojet Model 248E dynamometer. The temperature ranged from 66.9°F to 68.3°F, with 29.36-0.11 in. of Hg (mercury). The last pull at 66.9°F was 262.3 hp @ 5400 rpm and 278.6 ft-lbs @ 4700 rpm. Remember that these numbers are at the rear wheels. Most people use 10% to 20% driveline loss to get the horsepower at the flywheel. Using 10%, this translates to 288 hp, and 314 hp using 20% loss. My guess? About 300 hp, maybe less.

During the frst run, the car pulled a massive 150 hp! Luckily, this emasculation didn’t last very long. The rpm pickup wasn’t very secure so it gave false readings back to the computer.

Bigger! Better! More! If you'd like to see a bigger GIF of this plot, please click the picture on the right.
