...said the Spider. More topless, two-seater pictures. I can’t get enough of them.
Here we are, the Americans, checking out a Renault Sport Spider at the Nürburgring Dorint Hotel. It’s a little dark, but if you look closely, you’ll notice that there’s no windshield on this car. I’m not sure if that would be my preferred method of autobahn travel. And if you squint really hard, that would almost be the famous Tamara Hull behind the car. Almost.
And yes, that is a “don’t-think-about-parking-here-or-we’ll-tow-your-butt-away unless you’re a cool car” sign, or however they translate it from German.

This is an Alfa Romeo Spider from my personal rental fleet. After an unending assortment of rental cars with sub-atomic displacement engines, I finally decided to rent something nice with oomph. This turned out to be it.
The engine is only about 150 hp, but it still let me run over 220+ km/h, at which point strange loud car noises from the folding top conspired with my brain to make me slow the car down a bit.
It’s unique styling has grown over me since I’ve been in Europe. I like it alot now. And how many cars will let you run with its top gear at red line (7000 rpm) for as long as you like?
